Oui non parce que j'ai dormi approximativement euh, une heure et demie cette nuit ? Haha :D Bon d'un autre côté je veux pas trop me plaindre, j'avais qu'à faire ce dossier plus tôt, je peux m'en prendre qu'à moi-même. Mais aïe bobo mon dos quand même. (Oui quand je suis fatiguée j'ai mal au dos. Non je ne sais pas non plus.)

À propos de dossier, oh mon Dieu, c'est pas possible d'écrire un monceau de conneries pareilles. Non sérieusement. Même mon icône n'arrive pas à exprimer à quel point je pense que ce truc est une bouse. J'ai presque envie de le retravailler pour en faire un truc potable, tellement j'ai honte. Ça se base sur rien, c'est creux, et c'est au mieux très médiocre. (Surprenant, hein ? Ma prose universitaire devient immonde au-delà de minuit, sans parler de mes capacités de cogitation)

...Au moins je suis contente de ma mise en page ?

Là je suis en cours, mais je dois avouer que je me donne même pas la peine d'écouter... Pas que ce soit barbant (enfin si un peu, mais ça va, globalement), mais surtout que la prof nous distribue des photocopies avec le cours dessus, et mon cerveau ne marche pas assez pour que j'aie envie de prendre des notes.

Donc du coup j'écris mon NaNo en même temps... j'en suis à 23K et des cahouètes. J'essaie d'atteindre les 25K avant ce soir, et comme j'ai commencé seulement le 3 novembre, je me donne jusqu'au 3 décembre pour atteindre les 35K, parce qu'honnêtement, vu mon inteeense *cough* programme de révision, je devrais pouvoir y arriver. D'ailleurs je suis tellement habituée à appuyer sur Ctrl+S que je le fais compulsivement alors que je tape ce post LJ. Je suis complètement conditionnée, ça fait un peu peur ^^;

(D'ailleurs de temps en temps, même sans être sous le bloc-notes, je tape randomly Alt+O puis S - le raccourci clavier pour aller à Outils > Statistiques ^^; )

Et aux dernières nouvelles, j'ai un perso qui s'est fait randomly tirer dessus par une sentinelle de la Tour de Londres (mais pas un yeoman warder). Aha. C'était, hum, pas exactement prévu. Je veux dire, the Isle of Dogs qui tombe en cendres, je voulais plus ou moins le faire, mais ça, c'était totalement unexpected. Whut.

Tiens, je vais faire une petite liste des random acts of wanton destruction dans mon NaNo, ça sera rigolo.

This is not really a question about morphine, I've done some research about it and I found almost everything I needed, except for one : how quick does the morphine act, when injected ?
The situation is as such : one of my characters (25 year old female, pretty thin, on the verge of being skinny) must have her thumb bone dislocated and broken (for those who remember my question about how to get rid off handcuffs without the key, that's the same girl). Another character is helping her. She has access to morphine, so she gives her an injection. I need to know how long they would have to wait for the morphine to be efficient ? Also, how does morphine deals with acute pain ? I know it's widely used for chronic pains, or after some surgeries, but normally, in a surgery, the doctors would use something else as an anesthetic. However, my characters only have access to morphine. Would the woman still feel some pain (I would like her to. Not that I'm sadistic, but it would be good for the plot and story) ? At least while the other character is more or less shattering her thumb bone ?
After that, I'll have her on morphine, with injections every five minutes or so to begin with. She will then switch to a less strong pain killer.

I tried reading things about the effects of morphine, and I've seen that the relief seems really quick in movies or such (but in movies, a lot of things are exagerated), but how long would it take to act ?

Also, side question : in the movie Pi, that some of you might have seen, the main character is having terrible migraines. He has a special seringe, I guess it's something like an injection pistol (or whatever it's called in English). While suffering from a really terrible and unbearable migraine, he takes the pistol and injects the painkiller (probably morphine) right into his temple. Does morphine act quicker and better when injected directly in the body part suffering ? Or was it just for the show ? Also, would it be possible to inject morphine directly into an artery ?

I did research on morphine, on the usage of morphine in hospitals, on the dosage used to treat the pain, on different pain-killers used to treat acute pain, on the effect of morphine.

Hi there! Well, the other day talking with my friend rizuka we thought that would be great to read translated the chapter 49 she scanned days before.

That's why i asked for the translation to my friend Sanzaki Kojika, owner of Project Kurai Ryu fansub (the only one that translate KKM! manga into english). She accepted and I, as editor of KKM! for that fansub, have cleaned and edited this chapter.

So, here the chapter into english thanks to Project Kurai Ryu and the scans of rizuka (thanks for all, dear! This chapter is dedicated to you ^^).

Also, as i'm spanish and with my fansub I release KKM! manga too, I've fansubed this chapter into that language. You can read it in this entry.

Project Kurai Ryu have a request for all KKM! fans. We have a translator (Sanzaki) and an editor (me), but we don't have RAWs... We have translated 4 volumes, and we want to continue with this project, so if someone can help us with RAW's, tell us, please!!!

I want to set my alien civilisation on the satellite of a planet similar to Saturn, rings and all. Think Titan in tems of size, tilt, etc. I need to know what to expect in terms of days/years. I mean, how would an observer on the satellite's surface percieve a revolution of the satellite around the planet and a revolution of the planet around the sun? Assuming the satellite has a synchronous orbit, how would that factor in?

I tried googling various combinations of Titan, habitability, colonization, living on Titan's surface, etc. I got a lot of articles on the possibility or not of mining on Titan, the composition of the atmosphere, the difficulty of getting pictures of the surface, etc, but nothing about what I need.

Can anyone point my towards a good article, or, hell, a novel?

A forever romantic, I would love to write the Professor in a relationship, but other than his lost love every other woman seems forced into his story.

...I found myself one day trying an AU where Luke was a female! Layton's young girl companion that perhaps went off to school at 12 only to return an 18 year old woman, still wanting to go on adventures with her idol, who begins seeing her in a new light. It is strange but somehow makes my insides go all gushy! Named her Lucienna, but Prof calls her Lu or Luke from time to time. And now I cannot stop writing it.

I've taken a gander through the previous entries, but didn't find anything similar, so I thought I'd ask ...

I am trying to discover how long it takes for natural gas being pumped (the main gas valve on a stove being opened fully, and the burners opened) into a 26' x 12' room with 12' ceilings and standard ventilation to get to a point where an electrical spark can ignite it. I know the gas rises, and it takes very little actual gas to become a hazard, but how long would it take time-wise? A few seconds? A couple of minutes?

The story is set 50 years in the future, and we're assuming the gas lines and industrial gas stoves haven't changed significantly from today's.

I've Googled: Natural gas leaks, natural gas hazards, calculating vapor pressure, natural gas safety, natural gas psi, natural gas explosions, natural gas fires.

I need to know how a natural salt flat might react to a great deal of blood after a gunfight, where something like a dozen or twenty people are killed and left to bleed out. What would the blood do to the salt and would it linger in the salt for a few days or a few weeks.

The setting is the Salar de Uyuni of Bolivia, in the immediate future. The weapons used would likely be standard military assault weapons in possession of a Latin American military.

I was a geologist by training so I have looked at the way salt responds to liquid, but most of what I can find in my text books has to do with water and in particular flowing water. Most of it to be frank is based on my knowledge of petroleum geology ... which was never my specialty (not to mention very rusty) and relates mostly to water in salt domes, not salt flats. I am mostly concerned about the relative viscosity of blood to water... and the relatively small amounts of blood compared to the amount of water that the geology sources I'm looking at refer to.

I've google searched but as you can imagine, searches for blood and salt come up with health information no matter how many qualifiers I try to put around the salt. I've looked also using google for possible information from accident discriptions at Bonneville Salt Flats, but those have been quite a bit less gory in their descriptives than to talk about the subject.

Bakemonogatari & Letter Bee & Lucky Star icons. Well i didn't watch the first two but bakemonogatari had so sweet characters that i did some icons. For Tegami Bachi (Letter Bee), i bought the 3 first manga and loved the story. Maybe i'll try to download the anime... (which is still airing i think). Lucky Star is one of my favourite anime ever. It's a spice-of-life one really really funny with a lot of crossover with other animes.
